Solar Impulse has demonstrated that a solar-powered airplane can fly day and night without any fossil fuel. The Challenge is to fly dark at night and it proves that the aircraft could fly 8 hours non-stop at night. The next challenge is to fly around the world without any drops of fuel. This is an exprimental test on the Solar energy conversion, development of electronics to charge and discharge the energy from the battery, and how to build efficient motor of high reliability, plus all navigation equipment running on minimum electricity
