Introducing Maptor which means Map+Projector, a GPS Navigational gadget concept that seems really handy, portable and practical for every day use both for tourists and for locals crossing to unknown territory.

Maptor is a great new concept designed by Jin-Sun Park and Seon-keun Park which aims to make GPS navigation a practical and convenient thing for those that are also doing some Hiking and forest exploration. Instead of having it end up in a bulky GPS device, or a large screen LCD Display, the design places it within a miniature, lipstick-like gadget that could be very handy for everyone.

The maptor can be pointed onto a walk, ground, paper or palm to show the map in need, and that is design to include “ you are here” location, so that you can find your trail, way and direction immediately.

The next phase is how to sustain a power that can lit up the projector with enough light intensity for hours without charging. That is a key point for outing. And How to incorporate this concept on to the hand set such as Nokia Cellphone Projector and the portable Explay Handheld Projector.

This is still a concept design and will not be expected to be in the market 2010. Watch and see if some one can resolve the certain technical issue, well, that will have another hot product for the consumer market.
