The University of Electro-Communications of Japan create a new way for your GPS system mounted not on your car, but your glasses. A set of LEDs would be used to indicate the direction for you to go front, or turn right to reach to your destination. It is still under development.That would be fun for use once it is ready in certain country you are visiting.
